The History of Frensham Place

The history of Frensham Place starts between 1885 - 1887 when the house was built as part of a private estate complete with golf course and pleasure gardens. The estate was passed on through several private owners before, in 1937 Frensham Place was sold to the Headmaster of a small Preparatory School called Edgeborough. The school has a fine reputation and continues to flourish in the beautiful house and grounds of the estate. We are now able to offer the function rooms of Frensham Place for private hire on certain days throughout the year.
The house was built in a French style and constructed of Bargate stone, with large mullioned windows and decorated Dutch gables. The carriage driveway leads directly to the grand stone carved Entrance Porch. There is ample parking in the Forecourt.
The rear of the house opens on to the spacious Terrace, running the whole length of the South Front. From the Terrace formal lawns lead onto the wooded valleys of the Surrey Commons and Hampshire Hills.
